I'll try to keep my head down in case somebody starts shooting off fireworks. Its probobly just a big media scare but I might as well assume the worst, just in case? Anyways, keep up the prayers...

This is my experience and I highly recomend it to any young man or woman in search of adventure yet uncostomed to the perils of travel! Japan has the best Transportation system for touring in any city or prefecture and there is always someone ready to point you in the right direction! If you play your cards right you might even be able to walk away without to much of a dent in your wallet! Come and See Japan!
I will definitely be praying for your safety, as well as the safety of Japan. Korea has been too much the aggressor of late.
ReplyDeleteSince Jordan is not reporting I thought I would post his hostess's email to me. Cheryl is married to Paul, the son of one of my parent's missionary friends in Japan. I knew Paul when I lived in Japan at age 19. He and Cheryl have 13 children and Jordan is the 'American Boy' who is visiting - so he is a bit of a celebrity right now.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
Well, we certainly don't want Jordan leaving early. There is plenty to do. Even if he didn't do anything we'd still want him to stay. The kids are so excited to have him. They overwhelmed him when he arrived with stories and excitement.
On the bathroom, Paul was actually discussing it with me after everyone went to bed. It actually involves moving the bathroom (bathtub/shower) to the room that is now the laundry room, and moving those things (washing machine) out onto the porch - which involved building a small room on the porch to hold the washing machine and dryer, which starts with cleaning off the porch and Paul's tools! He asked if he could be let off school duties for a week, that he would like to get started on it with Jordan helping. They can get done what they can during next week, and once it's started, I'm pretty sure Paul will then see it through.
Just having Jordan here to help has helped Paul get going on some projects. We couldn't have done anything last week anyway, as everyone was gone to youth camp for several days, so it's really not about Jordan's timing, more ours as we are really limited now with the preschoolers in our house everyday! (rest of the older kids study downstairs).
I made a list of things Jordan could do while he's here (besides the bathroom), and today Paul managed to get started and nearly finish the first one (scraping/painting the outside stairs) AND Jordan helped tons in moving desks around while we attempt to create order out of chaos in the school area. He has such a great attitude!
Love,
Cheryl
